This little girl has died after being crushed by the frame of her storage bed when it fell from a raised position as she reached for her favourite toy.

The tragic incident took place in the neighbourhood of Seyhcui in the city of Amasya in the Turkish province of the same name on 20th September.

Bahar Karadayi, 6, raised the bed frame to get her favourite toy in the storage area under the mattress.

According to local media, she was only able to raise the base halfway before crawling underneath to reach her toy, however she was unable to hold it up any longer and it fell on her.

The girl’s mother Dilek Karadayi said she heard her daughter scream and rushed to her room.

She removed the trapped girl and then contacted the emergency services.

According to the news site Haber7, Bahar was taken to the Amasya University Sabuncuoglu Serefeddin Training and Research Hospital with serious injuries.

Despite doctors’ best efforts, the young girl died in hospital a short while later.

She was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic funeral rites at Seyhcui Mosque on 21st September.

It is unclear whether the police are investigating the incident.
