This is the moment two male performers strip down to their skimpy undies in front of a families and shocked children during a Barcelona street party.

The bizarre scenes were recorded at the La Merce street festival held in the city of Barcelona in the eastern Spanish region of Catalonia and have been slammed by politicians and netizens.

In the video, two members of the experimental dance group Losin’FormAlls, who have not been named in reports, can be seen dancing on stage in front of a group of children and adults.

The men then turn their backs to the crowd and begin stripping off, with one of them ending up topless and swinging the hose of a fire extinguisher as his partner strips down to a red thong.

The children in the crowd can be seen covering their eyes and turning away as both men end up in skimpy underwear and jump up and down.

The pair then stand with their buttocks to the crowd before performing a quick dance routine and taking a bow.

The video was shared on social media by the local spokesperson for the conservative People’s Party (PP) Oscar Ramirez, who wrote: “One of the ‘cultural’ shows at La Merce 2019 programmed by the @bcn_ajuntament (Barcelona council) was a striptease for the whole audience, including children. We demand explanations and responsibility from (Barcelona Mayor) @AdaColau for this event on Lluis Companys street. Shameful!”

And spokesperson for the right-wing Vox party Ignacio Garriga wrote that the “scenes… scandalised the children who saw them”.

The free show reportedly took place on 24th September at 5 pm and the local council have said that the two performers improvised and ending up stripping “because dance battles don’t always end the same” but said they understood that “some people could have been offended”.

La Merce is Barcelona’s largest street party and was held between 20th-24th September this year.
