This is the moment four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome cannot help but laugh as a youngster riding a bike in a pair of sandals keeps up with his pace during a training ride.

The heartwarming scenes were recorded by an onlooker in a car as Team Sky cyclist Froome was on a training near the city of Rionegro in the Colombian department of Antioquia ahead of his participation in the Tour Colombia which starts on 12th February.

In the video, British cyclist Froome can be seen cycling along a road in full gear with a youngster riding alongside him.

The local rider is wearing a pair of sandals and Froome can be seen laughing as the youngster keeps pace with him.

The person recording can be heard saying: “He’s wearing sandals and has a water bottle in his hand, alongside the champion!”

Froome will start his season with the Tour Colombia which his Team Sky teammate Egan Bernal won his home country last year. He will not be participating in this year’s Giro d’Italia as he focuses on winning a fifth Tour de France.

The Colombian race will run from 12th February to 17th February.
