This 23-year-old beauty has been caged for 12 years for fatally stabbing her ex-boyfriend in the neck amid claims he tried to rape her.

The young defendant, identified as Nusa Bunic, stabbed her former boyfriend Nikola Turek, 30, in the neck with a 9.5-centimetre knife in the northern Croatian city of Varazdin and severed his carotid artery before fleeing the scene.

Despite bleeding profusely, the injured man managed to get behind the wheel of his car and report the incident, but he lost consciousness on the way to receiving medical treatment.

He was found by a passerby and was rushed to hospital where he died two days later after reportedly suffering a stroke.

According to local media, his parents allowed the young victim’s organs to be donated to other patients and they helped six people.

Meanwhile, the defendant claimed that she had been attacked by her ex-boyfriend and accused him of attempted rape, although this could not be proved by the authorities.

The victim’s family was stunned that she accused him of such an act, with father Zdravo Turek saying: “It’s very easy to accuse a person who is no longer with us and cannot defend himself.”

He added that after fleeing from the scene, the defendant failed to call the emergency services, instead opting to phone her dad.

Meanwhile, a psychiatric expert said that Turek failed to show any remorse and has borderline personality disorder (BPD). It is unclear if she is planning to appeal the sentence.
