This is the moment ‘Father Christmas’ is seen riding in a sleigh attached to the back of a speeding BMW with sparks flying down the road.
The startling scenes were recorded by an onlooker in the city of Rostov-on-Don in south-western Russia’s Rostov Oblast region and posted onto social media.
In the clip, a car speeds past the camera with a sleigh behind it sending sparks flying off the road. The person recording then drives next to the BMW, showing the Father Christmas in the sleigh as the vehicle begins to speed up.
The man in the sleigh appears to be recording the bizarre scene himself. The scenes were seemingly recorded at night with the streets relatively empty.
Local media report that the unnamed BMW driver, 31, has been found by local police and fined 1,000 RUB (12 GBP) for the stunt.
Netizen ‘Ruslan Chernichenko’ said: “I wish this Santa would have brought snow with him.”
And ‘Anatoliy Kulumbegov’ commented: “Those Santas and their sleighs need to be fined a bit more often.”
While ‘Leonid Yurievich’ added: “They could have easily gone on a ride around the private zone by the port and everything would have been fine.”
Rostov-on-Don is a port city and the administrative centre of Rostov Oblast and the Southern Federal District of Russia. The population is estimated at 1,125,000 people.
