This is the baffling moment a school cleaner is fatally injured when she slips off a ladder as she is cleaning a school and smashes into the playground below.

Victim Sandra de Sousa Marinho, 41, had apparently been clearing gutters at the Class 10 School. In Ceilandia, in the Federal District, in Brazil, on Friday, 16th February.

CCTV security footage shows her ladder leaning on the roof’s eaves when it slips on the playground surface. Sending Sandra crashing to the ground.

As she lands heavily, her head flies back onto the tarmac and she seems conscious but unable to move as the footage ends.

She was apparently not wearing a helmet or any protective clothing or a safety harness.

Local media reported that she suffered a series of convulsions before being taken to hospital where she died eight days later. On 24th February.

She had been working for cleaning contractors Real JG Facilities S/A. Which said that cleaning roofs and guttering not part of the contract it had signed with the Federal District Education Department (SEDF).

The Department of Education told local media that they are cooperating wit the police during their ongoing investigation.
