A young man has died electrocuted while installing solar panels on the roof of a company’s premises.
Firefighters found Lucas Vitor Sardinha, 26, unconscious on the roof of premises belonging to a company called Perola Atacadista, at the height of about 4 metres (13.1 feet), in the Brazilian city of Anapolis, in Goias state, on Wednesday, 15th December.
The young man, who reportedly worked for a company called Energize Solucoes, was taken to the Dr Henrique Santillo State Emergency Hospital of Anapolis by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) but sadly succumbed to his injuries, being pronounced dead on arrival.
The company said in a statement: “We know that Lucas Vitor was an admirable person and that he will certainly leave a great void in the hearts of all who had the honor and pleasure of knowing him.”
They offered “the most sincere condolences” to his family and friends.
The company also said that it is investigating the incident.
They said in a statement: “In this moment of pain, the Perola group joins the demonstrations of solidarity and support for the family and monitors the investigation of the facts. We reiterate that the company values the care and safety of all its employees and service providers.”
The police are also reportedly investigating the incident.
