This is the moment a maid is filmed gluing a piece of paper tightly over the face of a crying boy whose arms and legs are tied up.

The startling scenes were reportedly recorded by another maid in a house in West Jakarta, the Indonesian capital, on 9th December but it was only obtained by the boy’s mother, identified as Y.T., on 4th January.

In the video, a domestic worker identified in reports as N.V. can be seen sitting with the boy, who has not been named. The boy has his arms and legs tied up when the woman places a piece of sticky paper over his face.

The tot can be seen crying with the paper covering his face and the woman takes it off before putting it back over his face.

Local police chief Audie S. Latuheru said that the suspect was allegedly angry with the boy for misbehaving in a shopping centre.

The mother reportedly posted the video online after obtaining it and warned that the maid had run away. She told others not to hire the maid and she filed a criminal complaint with the police.

The maid was eventually tracked down by investigators and charged under Indonesia’s Child Protection Law. Reports state the suspect could face up to five years behind bars if found guilty.

There have been no reports on the boy’s condition after the incident.
