Body Of Student Who Went Missing In 2013 After Telling Mum She Was Going To Cinema Found In Clandestine Grave

The remains of a young Mexican woman who went missing seven years ago after going to the cinema and never returning have been found in a clandestine grave with several other bodies.

The victim, identified as Cecilia Yolotsi Macias Martinez, was found in a hidden grave in the area of Las Abejas in the municipality of Salinas Victoria in the north-eastern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon following a search in September.

DNA results have confirmed the victim’s remains to be Macias Martinez, who disappeared in the municipality of Guadalupe on 3rd July 2013.

According to the newspaper El Universal, 42 bodies were found in the same area in 2016 which have since been identified by DNA tests.

Several years later, Cecilia was found in the area.

In 2014, the victim’s mother Cecilia told the newspaper Milenio that she left home to go to the cinema after studying hard, and never came back.

Human rights activist Yolanda Navarro told El Universal that the victim’s remains were found with five other corpses.

Three others were later identified to be four police officers from Apodaca who were among a group of 11 cops to disappear in 2011 in the municipality of Juarez.

The other body was identified as 20-year-old Pepe from Guadalupe.
