Two pranksters have been arrested for posing in front of the Ukrainian Embassy in Russia with two toilets to mock the Ukraine’s claims that three vessels seized by the Russians in 2018 were returned without toilets in them.

The incident took place outside the Ukrainian Embassy in the western Russian capital when two pranksters showed up with a couple of toilets painted in the colours of the Ukrainian flag.

They were referring to the Ukrainian vessels the Berdyansk and Nicopol and a tugboat named Yana Kapu which were reportedly seized by Russian border guards in the Kerch Strait in November 2018.

According to local media, the vessels were returned to the Ukraine on 18th November this year and the authorities in the capital Kiev claimed they were missing toilets and some small furnishings.

The Russian Federal Security Service immediately denied the claim and posted a video of the boats being prepared for their return while still intact, according to reports.

Apparently to make light of the incident, a 39-year old Moldavian resident and a 49-year old Moscow citizen decided to gift the Ukrainian Embassy two toilets as they appear to be in such need of them.

One of the toilets had the inscription: “Let’s support the Ukrainian military power!”

According to local media, their stunt was interpreted as an unauthorised demonstration and they were both arrested.

It is unclear if the pair will face charges.
