This is the moment an elderly man suddenly collapses in a fire while frying bacon and sets his clothes alight.
The incident was filmed in the city of Bazhong in the Chinese province of Sichuan on 30th November.
In the footage, the man, name not disclosed, is seen sitting with his back to the camera in front of a small outside fire where he is reportedly frying bacon.
The man suddenly falls forwards and lands in the fire. Apparently woozy, he tries to lift himself out of the flames in a semi-conscious state but does not manage to shift his body away.
His clothes catch alight and the man eventually manages to roll on his side and sit up.
He tries to remove his burning jacket, but does not seem able to and a neighbours runs over to put out the flames.
Meanwhile, a woman dashes inside the house to fetch a bowl of water while the neighbour removes the victim’s burning jacket.
On 1st December, the rescuer, named as Mr He, said the elderly man was fine because he managed to get to him in time.
Mr He added that the elderly man thanked him for his help.
It is unclear what caused the man to collapse in the fire and if he has been checked by healthcare workers since the episode.
