This is the moment a Russian man narrowly escapes being run over by a bus while running over a zebra crossing.

The near miss was filmed on the crossing in the city of Voronezh in the western Russian region of Voronezh Oblast, and the footage has been widely shared on the social network VK.

The video footage of the incident shows the moment the man jumps out of a car during a traffic jam and starts running over the crossing without having a clear sight of the bus lane because of the stalled vehicles obstructing his view.

The car filming means he cannot see the approaching bus, and he tries desperately to stop himself when he suddenly sees the bus at the last minute.

He even slips over as he tries to throw himself backwards, avoiding the bus whizzing past by a whisker.

The man then picks himself up, and after checking carefully this time, continues his dash across the road, this time crossing the bus lane safely.

The bus driver, meanwhile, appears to have not even noticed the near miss and carries on going without even slowing.

And the SUV that he climbed out from also then goes on its way after seeing the man make it safely to the side of the road.

It was not revealed whether the police are investigating the incident or even whether the man had made a complaint about the bus failing to stop at the zebra crossing.
