This dating application user has been slammed for ordering 85 GBP of food on a date before running away in the middle of the dinner without paying.

Local media report the man, who goes by ‘Chun Zhou’ on dating application Tantan, had taken a young woman to the Haidilao hotpot restaurant in the city-state of Singapore.

According to Hui Xin, a friend of the young woman, whose name is not reported, Zhou ordered 150 SGD (85 GBP) of food at the restaurant after asking her out on the application.

The man ate 80 percent of the food before telling his date he needed to go to the toilet, according to Xin.

However, the man then reportedly ran away and did not pay for his meal, leaving his date alone with the entire bill.

When she tried to contact him he had reportedly blocked her, even though the woman’s friend said she had not expected him to pay the whole bill.

Reports state Zhou is believed to be 24 years old and is from China. Hui Xin said she hopes by posting the story online other women will avoid going on dates with the man as he is “probably using the same method to scam” free meals from his dates.

She added: “Honestly chun zhou if that’s even your real name it doesn’t matter if you’re poor but at least have some dignity and self respect for yourself and others! (sic).”
