This is the shocking moment a man is filmed beating his ex-wife on the pavement before reportedly stabbing her as their daughter screams in the background.

The incident took place in the district of Kiziltepe in the south-eastern Turkish province of Mardin when the unnamed man saw his ex-wife with their daughter on the street.

According to local media, he attacked the 35-year-old woman, identified as H.D., in front of a crowd of shoppers.

He reportedly started beating his ex-wife while passersby tried to intervene.

Meanwhile, he continued beating the victim while their young daughter was screaming and then allegedly began to stab her with a knife.

After stabbing the victim, he fled the scene while the injured mother was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance.

She is said to be seriously injured and in a critical condition.

Meanwhile, the local authorities have confirmed that they are investigating the incident and are currently trying to track down the suspect.

In the video footage, a man in a white T-shirt is seen standing over a woman on the ground while a frantic young girl in pink top screams.

Several bystanders intervene and the man is seen being escorted away while the victim appears to get to her feet.
