This is the moment a pensioner on a bicycle narrowly avoids an out-of-control lorry after a burst tyre sends it spinning 270 degrees.

Traffic camera footage from the city of Qingzhou, which is in China’s southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, captured the moment the unsuspecting pensioner shuffles away just in time before the skidding lorry reaches him.

The video dated 13th March shows the elderly cyclist stopped on a central reservation while waiting to cross multi-lane thoroughfare.

Moments later, the lorry travelling in the innermost lane suddenly spins out of control after one of its tyres bursts.

The blowout sends the lorry spinning nearly one full circle, with the pensioner quickly cyclicing away into the nearby road as other cars stop.

As the video ends, the elderly man safely reaches the other side of the road, escaping the crash unharmed.

The lorry, which is used to transport livestock, suffered minor damage and its driver was not injured, the police said.

The authorities said the crash was a result of a front-left tyre burst.

The accident was still being investigated at the time of writing.
