This pretty tattoo artist who was born with only one arm is inking her customers in order to raise money for a prosthetic one.

Russian tattoo artist Alisa Postupinskaya, 19, was born in the city of Irkutsk in the south-eastern Irkutsk Oblast region with only one developed arm and doctors still are unsure why her other arm did not develop beyond the elbow.

Remembering her first few days at school, Postupinskaya said: “Curious children bombarded me with questions, called me names and laughed at me.

“My first year at school wasn’t easy, I did not want to talk to anyone. But over the first year my classmates got used to the fact that I don’t have an arm, they stopped asking questions and we started being friends.”

She has always been into painting, and every now and then her mother would be asked to go to her school as teachers were complaining about her daughter painting all the time.

Postupinskaya recalled: “My mum would only laugh back and say that she has a creative child.”

When she was 16, Postupinskaya became upset when another girl inked a tattoo on a male friend of hers.

She says: “I got a little bit jealous because now he would think of that girl every time he’d look at this tattoo; he would remember that girl for all his life. I really wanted to be carved into people’s memories. And I decided to learn how to make tattoos at any cost.”

She managed to find a mentor, for whom training the youngster was also a challenge according to reports.

She has now mastered her skills and together with her female mentor she works in their own tattoo parlour.

Postupinskaya hopes to earn enough money for a new prosthetic arm, as she has not had one since she was 16 when she grew out of her old one.

Netizen ‘Daniil’ said: “Amazing job on the tattoos.”

And ‘Dmitriy’ added: “This one story has so much positivity in it.”

‘Ekaterina’ commented: “Love stories like that.”

Alisa has reportedly been promised her desired arm after her story became public in Russia.
