This is the moment a Mexican cop discovers an adorable lion cub inside a crate at a postal sorting office.
The incident took place at a sorting office in the city of Tijuana in the north-western Mexican state of Baja California when officers of the National Guard were carrying out an inspection.
One cop was with a sniffer dog that reportedly signalled to a wooden crate with air hole that had been sent from the state of Guanajuato.
When they opened the crate, they found a cute African lion cub (Panthera leo) inside, as seen in the footage.
The officers checked the paperwork and found several discrepancies so the cub was taken to the police headquarters before being transferred to an animal park in the municipality of Ensenada, according to local media.
The zoo will care for the cub until the authorities carry out an investigation and determine what to do with it.
According to authorities, the African lion is an exotic animal and the transportation of them is regulated by the General Wildlife Law to guarantee safety and the animal’s welfare.
The investigation is ongoing.
