Customer Runs Back Into Pizzeria To Steal Food During Earthquake

This is the moment a hungry man runs into a pizzeria during an earthquake to steal food as everyone else flees.

The incident took place in a pizzeria in Mexico City when a 5.7 magnitude earthquake hit a spot 15.5 miles from the city of Chiautla de Tapia, in the Mexican state of Puebla, about 125 miles south of Mexico City, where the impact was felt at 2:06 pm on 7th December.

The footage shows a waiter serving some customers pizza at a table while a group of friends was having fun as they dined at another table.

The waiter and the diners began looking at the ceiling after they noticed the earthquake starting.

The waiter and the diners quickly evacuated the pizzeria after reportedly hearing a seismic alert in the distance.

However, one of the people who apparently was more concerned about the rumbling in his tummy than from the quake ran inside and started scoffing the food as everyone else fled.

The footage shows him packing pizzas and other items into a backpack.

The restaurant owner only realised the theft after checking the CCTV once the earthquake had subsided.

The establishment reportedly reviewed their surveillance footage to see the young man’s exploits.

It was unclear at the time of writing if the venue had filed a complaint with the police.
