A shopper has told of his horror as he found a shocking Nazi SS symbol in the pattern of a cardigan at a store in Switzerland.
The furious customer, not named in local media, had been shopping with his wife at the store in Lausanne when they stumbled across the knitwear.
The cardigan appears to have been designed with a giant houndstooth pattern.
But the pattern is so large it looks just like the double lightning bolt ‘SS’ symbol worn by the most fanatical Nazis in Germany’s Third Reich.

The SS political wing was in charge of the running of concentration camps while their military units were among the most brutal in World War II.
The shopper told local media: “In the store, my wife asked me how I liked the cardigan. I told her she could never wear it.
“She first asked me why before looking at the garment again.
“Then she noticed it too. We both found it shocking to offer this in stores.”
He added: “The saleswoman thought the same thing as us. But I don’t know if they really passed that on to the top.
“I’m not bigoted or fussy, but I don’t understand why no one noticed the similarity before.
“How could the designer or brand miss this? Or maybe it’s a marketing strategy.”
French brand Sandro, who created the design, told local media in a statement: “We identified this point in October and immediately removed the product in question from sale.
“We’re just as surprised as this customer, whose reaction is entirely justified. As the cardigan should not have still been available on Lausanne shelves.
“We make every effort to ensure that our policies are properly implemented across our network.”
