This is the police officer who is dragged on bonnet of a Range Rover before being knocked off and run over – who manages to survive the ordeal without even a broken bone.

The dramatic traffic stop attempt happened at the junction of Kangzhuang West Road and Binhe West Road in the city if Pingxiang in East China’s Jiangxi Province.

Traffic officer Luo Zhixin said he waved down the motorist behind the wheel of the white Ranger Rover on 26th September after noticing the car did not have number plates.

But footage of the incident shows the suspect, surnamed Jiang, refusing to stop the car despite the officer standing in front of the vehicle as it moves through the crossroads.

In his escape, Jiang finally speeds off with Luo clinging to the driver’s side door.

The cop is dragged a reported 100 feet before the speed of the vehicle throws him off and the Range Rover runs over his legs.

Luo, who suffered scrapes to his arms, legs and back, survived without any broken bones.

In a video, he is seen sitting on the pavement and surrounded by his colleagues after the hit-and-run.

Pingxiang police said the Jiang fled along Kangzhuang East Road and Wuzhuan South Road, running every red light as he evaded the police.

The authorities later found the Range Rover abandoned.

They managed to track down the car’s owner, who had lent it to the suspect, and who assisted the authorities in tracking Jiang down.

He reportedly turned himself in roughly 90 minutes later.

The police said Jiang had no driving licence as it had been revoked following a previous dangerous driving conviction.

He remains in custody as investigations continue.
