Coma Woman Dies After Bus-Dustcart Smash In Milan

This pretty female passenger who was on board a trolleybus that reportedly jumped a red light and crashed into a dustcart has died in hospital after being admitted in a coma.

The accident took place at Viale Bezzi in the north-western Italian city of Milan and reportedly resulted in the death of a 49-year-old woman and 18 injured passengers.

Shirley Calangi died of her injuries a day after the accident after being hospitalised in a coma.

She was reportedly sitting at the front of the bus and the impact caused her to be thrown out of the vehicle.

In the shocking footage, a body is seen tumbling out of the door as the damaged bus knocks over a road sign and narrowly misses a line of parked cars.

Meanwhile, reports said the driver was trapped in his cab and was eventually cut free by firefighters before being hospitalised with a broken femur.

The Milan transport company ATM said that an internal investigation has been launched after a preliminary probe suggested the bus driver jumped a red light at the busy intersection.

The company also offered “all necessary support to the family affected by this tragic loss”.

The local authorities are reportedly reconstructing the accident and checking CCTV footage to confirm the cause of the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
