This is the moment male and female university students take part in a mass brawl after an alcohol-fuelled end-of-course party.

The incident was filmed at the National University of La Plata in the eastern Argentine province of Buenos Aires and one student was hospitalised in the brawl, according to reports.

In the footage, dozens of students, male and female, are seen fighting and taking bottles from the ground to use as weapons.

At one point, a student lying motionless on the ground is kicked in the head by one young man.

Reports said that one person was hospitalised with multiple injuries, but is not considered to be in a serious condition.

It is currently unclear what sparked the brawl and the police have yet to arrest any suspects, according to local media.

The university faculty said in a statement: “Just like every year, an end-of-course party was staged and diplomas were handed to the students at the event.

“A family dinner and party was organised by the institution and when it finished and people were leaving, a brawl between faculty students started.”

The local authorities said that they “reject the violence” and are collecting information about the incident.

It is also claimed that cheap alcohol was sold at the party and people from other parts of the city attended the event.

The investigation is ongoing.
