In his latest work, the native of Cheng County in China’s north-western province of Gansu gathered more than 4,000 chickens and guided them into the simple drawing.

Using chicken feed, Mr Shang draws the lines on the ground, and the chickens naturally fill up the space as they peck away at the food.

In a matter of minutes, the birds are left standing in the form of a health worker, who is dressed in a white coat and wearing a surgical mask.
