This is the dramatic moment a tractor was involved in a collision with a police car that was attempting to stop it as it travelled down a Canadian motorway.

The tractor was apparently being driven by local man Bill Shoker, who collided with the police car and was injured after the vehicle overturned on Highway 1 in Surrey, British Columbia.

The entire incident was captured on video when it happened on Saturday, 25th November.

Highway Patrol agents said they had responded to a call around 12:35 pm local time, reporting a tractor-trailer blocking traffic on Highway 1.

Sergeant Duane Honeyman provided details, stating: “Officers attempted to stop the tractor, which resulted in an initial collision when the tractor rear-ended one of the police cars.

“The pursuit concluded with the tractor overturning as it tried to exit the westbound 176 ramp.”

Shoker, the driver of the tractor, was taken into custody but was first transported to the hospital for medical attention, as reported by Global News.

His wife, Manjit Shoker, revealed that he was en route to participate in the “STOP SOGI 123” protest, a rally against the SOGI 123 resource package aimed at promoting inclusivity in education by addressing discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

She said she had no idea why he decided to go there driving a tractor but said: “He is fine now, but he had to have an operation; he had problems with his spine.”

The investigation is ongoing.
