This is the moment a lorry carrying pyrotechnics gives motorists a stunning free fireworks show after the vehicle caught fire while on the move.

The incident was filmed near the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur in the far-eastern Russian region of Khabarovsk Krai and was posted on social media where it has been viewed over 180,000 times.

According to local media, the unnamed driver was unharmed in the eye-catching incident.

The driver, who rented the vehicle from a hire company for the sole purpose of delivering the pyrotechnics for a local event, was aware that the vehicle had caught fire and managed to flee the cab before the fireworks were set off.

It is unclear how the lorry caught fire, but eyewitnesses said it was driving along the main road while alight for some time.

In the footage, fireworks are seen exploding in the night sky as a lorry appears to be ablaze further down the road.

Netizen ‘Yanssen’ commented: “It is a great idea to keep fireworks in your house or car so that any blaze is visible from afar! Secondly, it also appears very festive!”

‘Lebom’ said: “It would be more considerate if the driver made this happen around New Year’s Eve!”
