This is the moment a burly cop sends two men without helmets flying when he forcefully shoves them off their motorbike for ignoring a traffic stop.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera in the district of Udham Singh Nagar in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand and shared on social media.

According to local media, the cop was part of a team carrying out a traffic stop to check that road users had valid licences.

The two men without helmets on the motorbike reportedly tried to get away with not stopping, and in response the cop shoved them off the vehicle and onto the tarmac.

Reports said that both men suffered minor injuries. Meanwhile, a large crowd gathered at the scene, angry over the incident.

Police took the injured bikers to hospital following the arrival of the angry mob, according to local media.

Meanwhile, reports said that the cop lost his temper when they tried to pass through the traffic stop and pushed them off.

Senior police officials have said that they are investigating the incident. It is unclear if the police officer has been arrested or suspended.

In the CCTV footage, a motorbike is seen trying to join the main road before a uniformed cop suddenly pushes them off.

The two men fall on the road and the cop confronts them before picking up the bike.
