This is the viral dash cam footage of two men, allegedly thieves, on a motorcycle attempting to remove a biker’s key from the ignition as he drives along a busy road.

The incident was filmed by the victim’s dash cam in front of Gandaria City Mall in the south-western Indonesian capital Jakarta and posted on Instagram by netizen ‘Reza Akum’ where it has been viewed 1.5 million times.

In the footage, Akum’s camera is pointed towards himself as she speeds along the road at night.

In that moment, two men on another motorbike pull up alongside the victim and the man on the back is seen making a grab for Akum’s key in an apparent attempt to yank it from the bike.

Shortly afterwards, another motorbike whizzes past with three men on it who Akum believes were part of the same gang.

After the incident, Akum warned others to take care when driving at night, saying that he was targeted by thieves at 1am.

According to local media, the local police are investigating the incident.

Police spokesperson Argo Yuwono reassured the public that the city’s security “is under control” and residents should not be concerned about carrying out their day-to-day activities.
