Dashcam footage from the junction between Xinghu Avenue and Lantang North Road shows the ambulance driven by Mr Deng racing through the crossroads during a red light.

Saloon car driver Mr Liang enters the junction just as the lights turn amber, and his vehicle hits the ambulance on the side, causing it to topple over onto its left side.

The ambulance was later righted with the help of arriving rescuers, but it is unclear whether any patients or family members were onboard at the time.

All five people in the ambulance were taken to hospital for treatment, with the authorities revealing two people suffered hand fractures.

None of the victims is believed to be in any life-threatening condition.

Zhaoqing police said both Mr Deng and Mr Liang were cleared of drink- and drug-driving.

However, investigators say they suspect traffic laws were broken resulting in the crash on 25th August.

They are still looking into the case.
