This is the moment terrified homeowner flee their residential community’s car park after gale-force winds rip off a building’s exterior wall and sent concrete slabs plunging to the ground.

The freak accident happened today (18th April) in the Youyi Jiayuan Residential District in Hefei City in north-eastern China’s Heilongjiang Province boarding Russia.

In video taken by the homeowners, they can be seen staring up at one of the high-rise tower blocks when strong winds tear off the structure’s outer wall.

As the debris comes flying towards the car park where they are standing, they immediately begin running away from the dangerous.

The clip shows the concrete slabs plunging several storeys before landing on the ground and hitting numerous parked cars in the process.

Local authorities stationed at the border with Blagoveshchensk, a city in Amur Oblast in the Russia Far East, sent officers to the gated community in order to ensure residents were safe and their vehicles were evacuated.

According to policeman Li Ningjie, no one was injured during the scare.

“We received reports from residents saying the exterior wall on one of the buildings was peeling off,” he said.

He added: “It caused damage to vehicles below. They were moved to safer areas.”
