SCISSOR HANDS: Police Shoot Man Dead Who Refused To Drop Scissors

This is the moment officers shoot dead a man armed with a pair of scissors after he shrugged off two direct hits with tasers.

Police had cornered the suspect in an alley after a homeowner in Phoenix, Arizona State, USA, had reported him for trying to climb his fence.

Bodycam footage of the shooting shows three officers surrounding a down and out sitting beside a trash pile in the alley on 3rd January.

In his right hand can be seen a pair of household scissors.

As officers order him to drop the scissors, he stands up and is tasered twice but uses the scissors to cut the electric leads.

Then as the man apparently staggers towards two of the officers, a third guns him down with six shots.

The police said that he died later in hospital from his injuries.

Phoenix Police said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “Conclusions about whether the actions of the officers are consistent with department policy and the law will not be made until all facts are known and the investigation is complete.

“An internal investigation by the Professional Standard Bureau is currently underway, in addition to a criminal investigation. Once the criminal investigation is complete it will then be reviewed by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.”
