This thief was seen groaning in agony after attempting to squeeze through the bars of a security gate and getting stuck during a burglary.

The incident happened at a house in the city of Celaya in the Mexican state of Guanajuato when the would-be burglar was spotted moaning in pain after getting stuck midway squeezing through the narrow bars of the security gate yesterday (Sunday, 26th December).

The man, identified as 36-year-old local Marcos Daniel, had managed to get inside but was unlucky when he tried to escape and discovered the door had locked itself.

So he tried to squeeze through the bars, where his head and torso managed to go through, but his hips and legs got stuck still inside the property. It was also revealed that the property he was burgling was apparently uninhabited at the time.

Police and firemen arrived on the scene, with the fire service prising open the bars so that the man could be freed and arrested by cops following the incident in the city’s Los Pinos neighbourhood.

He was reportedly handcuffed before the firemen freed him in order to make his arrest easier. He was also given a hospital checkup before being taken off into custody.

It is unclear who took the video, which was later shared on social media.

Neighbours who were quoted in local media claimed that the man was a troublemaker who had been arrested on several occasions for getting into violent conflict with other people in the neighbourhood.
