This is the moment three youths are left red-faced when they try to speed off on their scooter during a red light but accidentally wheelie and throw themselves off.
The embarrassing incident was captured on a car’s dashcam in the city of Yunfu in China’s southern Guangdong Province on 27th November.
In the footage, the three young men are seen crowding the back of the scooter as they wait at a junction on Jinshan Avenue.
When they see an opening in the traffic ahead, the man in front revs the throttle and tries to speed off into the crossroads despite the red light.
The stunt backfires badly as the front of the scooter lifts up into the air due to the excess weight of his two friends riding pillion.
The scooter ends up vertical and all three are thrown off their seat onto the ground, with the vehicle crashing next to them.
The trio pick themselves up and the driver lifts his scooter, which flies out of his hands a second time as he accidentally revs the throttle again.
The hapless youth watches as the scooter crashes once more and its seat breaks off.
The hilarious clip ends with the red-face trio prepared to leave the scooter there and walk away, but the driver changes his mind and comes back for his broken vehicle.
Under Chinese traffic regulations, it is illegal to carry more than two people on a scooter.
In this instance, however, the police are not believed to have been called.
