This is the moment a Chinese woman swishes her bubble tea drink and shows a pair of nail clippers lying at the bottom of the cup after she drank half of it.

The young woman, name not reported but known as ‘Plum’ on TikTok, visited a cafe in the city of Hangzhou in the Chinese province of Zhejiang with friends on New Year’s Eve to welcome in 2022.

She said she always liked the shop and decided to go for their special New Year’s Eve bubble tea.

However, halfway through the drink, the woman noticed something strange in her cup and said she suddenly felt nauseous.

The woman took a closer look and saw nail clippers at the bottom of the cup after she had already drunk half of the tea.

She said her heart sank as it was supposed to be a special occasion with friends so she took out her phone and filmed the incident.

She also vowed to never visit the store again after claiming staff members were unhelpful. However, it is unclear if she has reported the cafe to the local authorities over the allegedly contaminated drink.

Many netizens told the woman to see legal advice while others accused her of deliberately putting the clippers in the cup herself.

It is also unknown if the local authorities are aware of the widely-shared video and are looking into the matter.
