Dog Killed And Woman Injured During Collision In Bizarre Beach Race Between Horsemen And Bikers

This is the moment a dog is killed and a woman is injured during a nasty collision in a bizarre race between horsemen and bikers on a Brazilian beach.

The woman’s arm was broken and the pooch was killed when they were both hit during the race between horses and motorbikes on the stretch of sand.

The bizarre race took place on Tanigua Beach, which lies between the municipalities of Peruibe and Itanhaem in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo.

It is not clear when the ill-fated race took place, but the footage filmed by bystanders was first uploaded to social media and later hit national headlines on 31st December.

The footage shows how the woman and dog are on the stretch of sand when, seemingly out of nowhere, the competitors in the illicit race burst into view.

The footage shows how one of the bikers is also knocked off his vehicle after hitting the pooch and sending it flying. According to the local authorities, the dog died at the scene.

The stretch of beach where the illicit race took place is relatively isolated and lies alongside some indigenous villages. Illicit horse races are said to take place frequently in the area.

The municipal authorities of Peruibe told local media that after having tried for some time, they finally managed to close the beach to curb such activities on the morning of 29th December.

They said they had not been able to close the beach earlier because no agreement had been reached with the indigenous villagers regarding their access to the stretch of sand at the time.

It is not known if the bystanders seen in the video footage had been betting on the outcome of the race.
