Amari Bente Hendricks, 24, was detained after she confronted the employee at a McDonald’s restaurant located on state road 434 in the city of Altamonte Springs, Florida State, USA, on Thursday, 16th February.

Police claimed that she appeared at the drive-though window at around 11.32pm and yelled about being entitled to a free cookie after the employee had failed to ask her about the franchise’s rewarding programme.

But when the manager identified as Eudany Ester Ruiz got to the pickup window and gave her the cookie, she reportedly kept arguing, and then pulled out a black handgun.

Altamonte Springs Police Department said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “Once Hendricks grabs the handgun Ruiz sees Hendricks insert a magazine into the handgun and rack the slide.

“Ruiz heard a sound when Hendricks racks the slide that she described as being two clicking sounds associated with someone chambering a round into a gun.

“Ruiz said the sound was distinct and familiar due to her time around firearms.”

In fear for their life, the employees then back out of the drive through window despite not being able to recall whether the offender made any direct threats towards them.

Another employee named Erick Jose Hernandez described the weapon as a smaller model black handgun with a pattern on it that he believed was either pink or purple.

When they saw Hendricks drive away from the drive-through window, all of the restaurant’s employees rushed to get all of the doors locked up.

But instead of leaving, the 24-year-old woman made her way to the front door after she parked her vehicle and managed to get it open as one of the employees had failed to lock it properly.

The police claimed: “Hendricks then grabs Hernandez by his left arm, forces him out of the business, and begins to strike him multiple times.

“Hernandez said he did not attempt to fight back with Hendricks, only to escape her grasp.

“Hernandez suffered multiple scratches to his face and neck area.”

When arrested, Hendricks reportedly refused to listen to officers’ verbal commands, resulting in a resisting arrest charge.

She later told cops that she and one of the employees got into a “tussle” when she attempted to enter the restaurant.

She also admitted possessing a gun, but denied pulling it out or making threats with it.

Hendricks also claimed that she always kept the gun unloaded without a magazine, but cops later found it loaded on the driver side floorboard.

The police said: “Hendricks said she does not know why the firearm was loaded with a magazine in it when we found it.

“Video surveillance was reviewed from the McDonalds which shows Hendricks in the drive-through of the McDonalds, holding a dark-coloured object similar to the shape of a firearm in her right hand, and inserting something into the apparent firearm with her left hand.

“Hendricks is then seen waving the expected firearm around the vehicle.”

Both the employee and the manager said they are planning to press charges.

Following the arrest, Hendricks was detained and booked into Seminole County Jail, one day before making her first court appearance on Friday, 17th February.

She faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, improper exhibit of a firearm, battery causing bodily harm and resisting an officer.

She is set to reappear in court on e arraigned on Tuesday, 4th April, according to court reports.
