Rushdee Anderson, 41, from Los Angeles County, in California, USA, was shot dead at the scene when he pointed the 9-milimetre Polymer80 semiautomatic handgun at them on Friday night, 2nd September, 2022.

Bodycam footage released by the South LA Sheriff’s Station on Friday, 20th January 2023, shows deputies Justin Sabatine and Meshawn Telemaque responding to a call regarding a person with a gun on the 1800 block of West 108th Street at 11.39pm.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “The informant in the call stated a male was standing in front of the location and was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

“The male was flashing a gun, which he then concealed in his pocket.

“The male was later identified as 41-year-old Rushdee Anderson.”

As the cops walked towards the location, they detained an unknown person in front of Anderson’s house believing he was the suspect.

At the beginning of the video, one of the officers can be heard saying: “Keep your hands on your pockets. Come here.”

But while talking to the man, Anderson came out of the house and took the weapon he had previously put on his front porch.

He was immediately ordered to drop it, but he instead pointed the gun in their direction after which the deputy fired several shots at him.

Repeatedly shot, the 41-year-old man collapsed near the interior threshold of the front door, as deputies approached him to give him first aid.

Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics later pronounced him dead at the scene.

The police said that nobody else was injured during the incident and added that an investigation to determine the circumstances of Anderson’s death is ongoing.
