This young woman says she is frightened for her life after posting images of injuries allegedly caused by her mother’s lover beating and sexually abusing her.

Stunning Gizem Avci, 20, who lives in the southern Turkish city of Antalya, said she was first assaulted by her mother’s lover Imdat Dumlu, 42, two years ago when she went to visit her mother in district of Eregli in the central Turkish city of Konya.

She said that when she told her 39-year old-mother, identified only by the initials Y.K., she was so shocked she split up with Dumlu, but a short while later she forgave him and the couple moved back together.

Avci said that five months ago, her mother persuaded her to visit and that exactly the same thing happened again, with Dumlu waiting until his partner went to sleep before sexually assaulting her, leaving her with these injuries.

Once again mother and daughter walked out, but once again the mother agreed to reunite with her partner after he turned up to persuade her to come back.

Gizem has since filed a complaint with police alleging his sexual abuse and claimed that she has received death threats from his family.

She remains unrepentant about filing charges, saying: “I started receiving blackmail and threatening messages from the family of Dumlu on social media. I want justice to be served. I want that man to be arrested. He is a very dangerous man and my mother is not aware of it.”

The Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the allegations and confirmed that officers have interviewed Dumlu.

The investigation is ongoing.
