A toddler was tragically found dead in his parents’ car after his mum and dad allegedly got drunk and left him sleeping in their vehicle in 37 degrees Celsius heat for three hours.

The boy, three, has not been named, with reports saying he was later found by his parents, who had forgotten about him as they went home to sleep following a wedding.

The incident happened in the town of Dafu in Anhua County, which is in Central China’s Hunan Province, on 4th October, when daytime temperatures reached highs of 37 degrees Celsius.

Local media reports said the tot had been bought by his parents to a family friend’s lunchtime wedding, where his mum and dad got drunk.

The parents arrived home at around 2pm local time but forgot about their son who had been asleep in the back of the car, reports said.

They remembered him three hours later but found him lifeless in the back seat.

Heartbreaking images show his family members carrying his limp body from their car back into their home, with the boy appearing to have stripped off his pants while suffering in the oven-like conditions inside the vehicle.

Reports said the tot has since been buried by his family following the tragedy, but it was still unclear at the time of writing whether his mum and dad faced any legal consequences.
