WHAT THE FLOCK? Boy Directs Geese Just Like Traffic Cop

A young boy is baffling wildlife fans with his ability to herd huge flocks of geese just using flags to direct them like a traffic cop.

The boy was filmed by his father on his daily duty near their home in the city of Longnan, Gansu Province, central China.

The dad – not named in local media – shared several videos of his son guiding the flock back to their shed on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok.

In the footage, the little boy can be seen standing at a fork in the road, holding two traffic flags in his hands.

As he prepares to wave the flags, a huge flock of geese can be seen waiting patiently on the country road.

As the geese come on, the boy uses one of the flags to direct the geese down a side turning towards home.

The geese seem to understand the boy’s gesture and even how he is sometimes using different-coloured flags.

They start walking down the turn in an orderly fashion before entering their shed, which is apparently close by.

According to the little boy’s father, his son would help out with the geese whenever he is on holiday.

And the geese would always follow the flag and go wherever they are pointed to.
