According to local media, the feminist group ‘Lastesis’ was performing ‘Un Violador En Tu Camino’ (‘A Rapist In Your Way’), which has been a big hit across Latin America, when the unnamed young woman stole the show with her own passionate interpretation.

Local media confirmed that she was not part of the 70-woman troupe known for performing songs with lyrics about gender violence and sexual abuse.

‘Lastesis’ started performing the routine ahead of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25th November.

In the footage, the female performers are seen wearing green handkerchiefs over their faces as they sing lyrics such as “it was not my fault, neither where I was nor how I was dressed. The rapist is you”.

Green handkerchiefs became a symbol of the feminist movement in Latin America during the recent debate on legalising abortion in Argentina.
