This 29-year-old reality TV show star has been shot dead in Mexico when he left a bar with a woman known only as ‘Karen’ after having an argument with a group of women.
The killing happened in the Colonia Campestre Churubusco neighbourhood in the municipality of Coyoacan in Mexico City, the Mexican capital when reality show contestant Brian del Prado was killed as he left the ‘Madeira Rooftop’ bar on Sunday with a woman called Karen.
Reports state that Karen told local authorities they had left the bar because they had an argument with a group of at least eight women.
They got into Del Prado’s pickup truck but as he was driving he was shot allegedly by two men riding on a motorbike.
Local authorities reportedly counted 13 shots were fired at the vehicle and found the reality show contestant dead in the car from a bullet to the head.
Karen was not injured in the incident as she bent down in the vehicle.
Reports state the motive of the murder and the identity of the killers are still unclear. The investigation is ongoing.
Del Prado was a contestant on the reality show ‘Enamorandonos’ (Falling in Love) broadcast by the Mexican TV Channel Azteca.
The TV celebrity posted his last Instagram picture five days ago for his more than 37,000 followers and wrote: “With my eyes always on my targets.”
He is the second contestant from the programme to be murdered after contestant Nataly Michel Rodriguez Romero was found strangled in her flat in the municipality of Venustiano Carranza also in Mexico City in May. No arrests have been reported over her death.
