This footage shows a woman in eastern China ruining her new outfit after accidentally tripping over her dog and tumbling down the stairs and onto the dirty ground.

The woman, named only as Ms Chen in local media in Suzhou, Anhui Province, is then seen picking herself up with the pet pooch seemingly more worried about eating something that she dropped, rather than showing concern about whether she was okay.

The young woman said that she had been paying attention because she was excited to go out and show off her new clothes following the incident on 6th December.

But in her hurry to flaunt her brand-new attire, she accidentally tripped over her dog, which was sitting on the steps.

CCTV footage shows Chen suddenly coming into view after rolling down the stairs and landing head-first on the ground as her pup casually comes following in and spots the snack that she had been carrying on quickly grabs it.

Ms Chen meanwhile gets up and begins dusting herself off, and is similarly more concerned about her clothes rather than her injuries.

But thankfully, she said she was not seriously harmed and later laughed at herself.

She shared the video on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, and netizens joked about it, suspecting the dog might have set her up for a fall in order to still the snack.

User ‘otherwise’ said: “The new clothes look great.”

Another user, ‘maikun’, jokingly wrote: “A very new way to go downstairs.”

While user ‘let nature take its course’ said: “Faster than an elevator.”

And ‘Leslie be good’ said: “Every time I go down the stairs, I picture this tragedy in my head.”
