This is the moment a toddler falls face-first out of a moving pedicab and is nearly run over by a nearby bus as her desperate mum dives out after her.
The near-miss was captured on a car dashcam in the city of Baoding, in North China’s Hebei Province, on 10th December.
The footage shows the three-wheeled taxi among other vehicles which are stopped at the lights by a crossroads.
As the lights turn green and all the vehicles begin moving again, the red pedicab’s door suddenly opens and the tot dressed in thick winter clothes and a beanie tumbles out.
The child, who appears to be a girl, falls face-first onto the asphalt just as the large wheels of a nearby bus roll past her.
The driver of the dashcam vehicle honks his car horn in shock as the child’s mother also dives out the pedicab in an apparent attempt to save her.
In the video, the tot is seen still lying on the ground when her mum picks herself up and grabs the girl before returning to the taxi.
The child is not believed to have come to any harm.
Baoding police are also not thought to have been involved in any subsequent investigations into the accident.
