THE GATE ESCAPE: Three-Year-Old Survives Crushing Under Giant Metal Gate

A three-year-old boy has astonished medics by surviving after his skull was crushed when a huge metal gate collapsed on his head.

Shocking footage of the accident shows the boy playing in an alley beside his home in Bernal, Buenos Aires province, eastern Argentina, on 8th June.

As he passed by a four-metre-wide metal gate it shifts without warning and falls down on top of him.

Underneath, the trapped lad’s screams for help can be heard as his mother comes running and tries to lift up the gate.

Local media reports that the young lad – named Matias – suffered a severe skull fracture.

After emergency treatment at a local clinic, he was rushed to a bigger hospital for treatment.

His aunt – named as Alicia – told local media: “They told us they couldn’t take him because they did not have the expertise. We had to call the Ministry of Health.”

Now following a delicate operation the shattered skull, Matias is due home this week.

His aunt Alicia said: “Thank God everything went well.”
