Terrified Syrian Girl Dies Of Fright Over Latest Earthquake

A terrified Syrian girl died when her heart stopped because she was so scared after the latest earthquake hit the region.

The 6.5 magnitude earthquake that hit Syria and Turkey on Monday, 20th February, killed six people and injured 294 others in Turkey, according to the country’s disaster management authority AFAD.

At least one girl and one woman are known to have died in Syria as a result of Monday’s quake.

And Dr Ali Saif al-Din Bilal, the head of the forensic medicine clinic in Tartus‎, a city on the Mediterranean coast of Syria, reportedly said that the child named Nour Davood whose exact age was not given died as a result of a nervous shock caused by the intense fear of the earthquake.

Nour reportedly died in the city of Safita, in the Tartus‎ Governorate, after going into a state of shock as a result of the earthquake.

The doctor also reportedly said that a large number of people suffered fractures and bruises as a result of them fleeing their homes in panic.

Turkey’s disaster management agency (AFAD) has said that 43,556 people are dead and over 108,068 injured in the country. Over 5,814 people have reportedly died in Syria. The total death toll for the two countries currently stands at 49,370 people.

The 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck early on the morning of Monday, 6th February, in southern Turkey, devastating the south of the country and northern Syria.

A second earthquake of 7.6 magnitude hit the same region again at 11:24am local time on 6th February, causing even more damage.
