This is the moment a man chases after a terrified eight-year-old girl from her apartment block after allegedly harassing her in a lift.
The incident took place on Krylov Street in the city of Surgut in the Russian federal subject of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
Local media – which says the girl’s mother shared the story on social media – reports that an unnamed man began creepily quizzing the girl in the elevator
The stranger became interested in the child’s flat number and where her parents were.
His probing questions frightened the girl so much, that she ran out of the building crying for help.
CCTV footage shows the girl sprinting out of the front doors, followed by the man who chased her down the street.
She was saved when a passerby stopped the man and walked the girl home.
A second CCTV video shows the woman confronting him after he followed them back to the apartment block.
And as he tries to get closer to the girl, she flinches and hides behind the woman.
The footage goes on to show her making a call on her mobile phone and minutes later police quizzed the suspect.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug said: “The identity of the man has already been established, now the police officers are taking statements from both parties. An investigation is underway.”
