This 25-year-old man has tragically died less than 24 hours after marrying his dream bride.
Roy Jarius Watuulo died at the Kapchorwa General Hospital in the town of Kapchorwa in the Eastern Region of Uganda on 6th December.
His death came less than 24 hours after marrying his wife Anitah Nabuduwa at a chapel in the Uganda Christian University (UCU) where they both attended in the town of Mukono on 5th December.
Local media said Watuulo began to struggle for breath and collapsed shortly afterwards while at church. He was taken to hospital, but was pronounced dead upon his arrival.
According to the newspaper Daily Mentor, Watuulo had recently returned to Uganda after studying for a Master’s degree in Israel. (https://bit.ly/34kaEJU)
The same report said that his mum, named Lydia Watuulo, stated that he suffered a clot in his left lung which ultimately caused his death.
The news has left many in shock as those who knew the couple said they hoped to spend a long, happy life together and had bright plans for their future.
According to reports, Watuulo’s father is the dean of the Faculty of Education and Arts at UCU.
It is unclear if the young man’s death is under investigation.
