This is the moment a teen is so obsessed with his mobile phone screen that he walks straight into the path of an oncoming rush hour bus.

Streetcam footage of the bizarre collision shows the 18-year-old boy walking in the roadway in the Turkish capital Ankara with his eyes fixed on his phone at around 8:20 am on 22nd May.

He does not even see the bus coming straight towards him, and as the terrified driver slows down, he walks straight into it and is sent flying backwards, landing on his backside.

The stunned boy, named only as EK in local media, does not move even when bus driver Omer Bostan comes out to check how he is and inspect his broken windscreen.

Further footage from the bus security cameras shows the moment the man was hit with his legs flying up in the air as he is decked.

Local media said that EK was taken to hospital under observation as a precaution.

Bostan said: “I waited for him to see me and run away, but he did not. I hit the brakes and stopped, but not before the boy hit me.

“My speed was between 10 and 20 kph.

“If I’d had a fast speed, God forbid, that kid’s head would have been broken or something worse would’ve happened.”
