This is a teenage mother and her baby shot dead in a drug cartel bloodbath on a suburban street in the USA.
The 17-year-old’s body was found lying in a ditch alongside her six-month-old baby outside their home in what police describe as a “horrific massacre”.
Police say six died in the attack in Goshen in the agricultural San Joaquin Valley of California in what they believe was a hit ordered by a drug cartel.
Only a week earlier, police had been at the same property with a search warrant to look for drugs.
Victim Alissa Parraz was still holding baby Nycholas Nolan Parraz, when her body was found and it is believed she was shot as she tried to flee.
Both mother and baby had been shot in the head, reported local media.
Police say they were called by neighbours at 3:30am after hearing gunfire.
Alongside the body of the young mum and baby, detectives found another body in the driveway, and three other victims were inside the house.
Only one of the victims inside the house was still alive but he later died in hospital, according to information from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.
Two people reportedly survived the mass shooting by hiding inside a trailer located on the property.
Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “Detectives believe there are at least two suspects and this is not a random act of violence.
“It appears this family was targeted and there are gang associations involved, as well as potential drug investigations.
“A week ago, TCSO Detectives conducted a narcotics search warrant at the victims’ home.”
The investigation continues.
