This is the road-rage moment an SUV driver rams a rival driver in a Lada into oncoming traffic after being repeatedly punched through the window and reportedly threatened by a gun.

The incident took place on Mamadyshskiy Trakt Street in the city of Kazan located in the south-western Russian republic of Tatarstan.

In the footage, the Lada owner is seen throwing punches through the window of the SUV.

After a while, the angry Lada driver gets back in his car and tries to leave, but the SUV driver reverses and rams him from the side.

The SUV then pushes the Lada into the path of oncoming traffic before reversing and ramming it again.

Both cars end up in the middle of the road and nearly cause a pile up. The Lada driver then climbs out of the passenger seat to confront the SUV owner, and appears to be knocked over as his rival flees the scene.

The injury however does not appear to be severe as he is trying to chase the SUV owner as it flees the scene.

Reports said the two vehicles involved in the incident were a Lada Priora and a Toyota RAV4.

According to witnesses, the unnamed Lada driver had also threatened the SUV owner with a gun and after he was knocked down, he fired at the fleeing vehicle.

The reason behind the road-rage incident is still unclear, however, the local authorities have managed to identify both drivers.

Reports said that the 32-year-old Toyota owner and the 22-year-old Lada driver are both under investigation.
